On June 19, the fifth and final match in the T20I series between India and South Africa was played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Only 21 goals were scored as a result of the match. The incessant rain made further play impossible. South Africa’s reserve captain Keshav Maharaj won the toss. India led 28/2 until it started raining, which gave them one last chance to win. Because of Lungi Ngidi, India lost both their openers, Ishan Kishan and Ruturaj Gaikwad. This happened when Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant were in the middle .

The five-match series went to a draw and was split 2-2. South Africa held the lead, winning their first two matches. India caught up with South Africa and came back to win the next two matches of the series. The weather pre-determined the outcome of the match, even though Pant and his boys had the advantage before this match. Both sides were absolutely disappointed with the outcome of the match, which was interrupted by rain. But based on that, South Africa maintained its unbeaten record in the limited-overs series since 2010.
