Player replacements for RCB, RR, PBKS, and KKR

Rajasthan Royals (RR), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Punjab Kings (PBKS), and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) announced replacements in their squads for the rest of the season. They did so ahead of the resumption of the VIVO IPL 2021 in the United Arab Emirates on September 19, 2021.

RCB has called in Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga instead of Australia’s Adam Zampa. Hasaranga bagged a total of 7 wickets, including a 4-wicket haul in the final T20I in the recent three-match T20I series against India in Sri Lanka. RCB made further replacements, including left-arm quick George Garton for Kane Richardson, Tim David for New Zealand’s Finn Allen, and Dushmantha Chameera for Daniel Sams.

Meanwhile, RR has replaced England’s Jofra Archer for New Zealand wicketkeeper-batsman Glenn Phillips. The New Zealander has so far played 25 T20Is and has 506 runs against his name. He has a strike rate of 149.70 and scored a hundred and 2 half-centuries. in the Rajasthan Royals squad, South Africa’s Tabraiz Shamsi will play instead of Andrew Tye.

PBKS has ditched Riley Meredith for Australian fast bowler Nathan Ellis. Earlier this month, the right-arm pacer Ellis came into the limelight following his hat-trick on the international debut against Bangladesh. He is also one of the reserve players in Australia’s 2021 T20I World Cup squad.  Finally, PBKS has replaced Jhye Richardson with England leg-spinner Adil Rashid.

KKR has brought veteran New Zealand pacer Tim Southee instead of Australia’s Pat Cummins.
