PSL 2022 Schedule Does Not Agree with the IPL 2022

The following situation may happen: The Pakistan Cricket Board reports that there may be a problem with the planning of games for the T20 league. For this reason, the Pakistan Super League PLS may face the Indian Premier League next year.

Pakistan really wants to host an amazing series at home, they plan to play against Australia in February-March. Usually, it is in these two months that the PSL is played, some famous players play at this time, and watching the game becomes much more spectacular.

The previous administration of the board of directors discussed the current FTP. During the work, fears began to arise, they were afraid that the league could greatly affect the schedule of the international season in Pakistan.

PSL and IPL can be held at the same time in 2022.

PSL 2022 Might Be Played In April-May Window, Clashing With IPL 2022 Edition

A visit to Australia is very important because they have not traveled or toured for 22-23 years.

It takes about 50 days for the PCB to spend the entire season, but there is a fear: if the league is still held from April to May, then two tournaments will be held simultaneously with the large and very famous Indian Premier League.

This league will be very special and phenomenal, there will be ten teams in it, not eight.

This means that there will be more players, both international and national. Seventy matches are expected instead of sixty.

The additional window will be from December 25 to February 15. The PCB is in this window because there is a limited number of places in it. Also, many foreign players will be busy with the national debt at this time. The only city that is suitable for games at this time in winter is Karachi. And the weather in Punjab, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi will have heavy fog.

For this reason, PCB prefers to hold games in the spring window from March to April for PSL 2022.  Apart from this, the board and the six PSL franchises remain locked in trying to agree on a tournament financial model that both sides are content with. Currently, all six teams, even though their annual rights fees range from USD 1.1 million to USD 6.35 million, get an equal share of the revenue every season.

ESPNCricinfo reported that PCB has formed a panel with an independent consultant and a retired judge in Tassaduq Hussain Jillani to resolve the issue. The PCB is set to hire an independent consultant to evaluate the value of the brand and to sell the rights. In the previous cycle, PCB had managed to secure a 358 percent rise in their new broadcast deal.
