Some of the well-known England women’s team players were present at Trent Bridge during Day 4 of their men’s second Test match versus New Zealand. They were cheering for the Ben Stokes-led side, who are presently 1-0 up against the world champions in the three-match series.
Joe Root, who recently crossed 10,000 runs in Test cricket, has continued to sparkle against New Zealand. The former England captain notched up a match-defining century in the series opener at Lord’s and followed it with a scintillating knock of 176 in the second Test match. Riding on that, England closed on 539 after New Zealand’s 553 in the first innings. At stumps on Day 4, New Zealand reached 224/7, leading by 238 runs.
After reaching his hundred at Trent Bridge – Root’s 27th in Tests – Katherine Brunt, one of the integral members of England’s women’s side, brought out a hilarious celebration at the stands. She was seen twerking in front of the camera to celebrate Root’s hundred, and Nat Sciver, whom she recently married, and former England player-turned-broadcaster Isha Guha could not stop laughing after seeing that.
