What Is Known at The Moment?

Previously, Malinga worked for the Mumbai Indians and also accompanied the Sri Lankan men’s team to Australia. At the time, he served as a bowling strategy coach.

While currently with the Rajasthan Royals as fast bowling coach, his job will be to oversee the preparation of bowling strategy throughout the entire 15 season of IPL 2022, and he will also need to assist in accelerating the development of young bowlers.

Malinga himself, in an interview about his new position, said that he is very happy to be back in the IPL, and he is also honored to join the Rajasthan Royals team specifically, as it has always unlocked the abilities of young talent. He is very happy with the kind of bowling the Rajasthan Royals team has before the tournament, so Malinga is looking forward to working with all the fast bowlers and will do his best to see them reach the playing heights. As Malinga said, he is warmed by the memories of working with the Mumbai Indians team, so as the fast bowling coach for the Rajasthan Royals team, he is looking forward to getting to work.

As for Upton, his role is to help the team maintain a healthy culture and environment, provide mental support for players, establish team cohesion, organize mutual support for players and more. Upton will first be with the team for the first four weeks and then join the team virtually.

The two coaches, who now work with the Rajasthan Royals, were greeted by team head coach Kumar Sangakkara. He said the team was honored to have such outstanding coaches with a rich playing history in cricket. In his opinion, Lasith is one of the greatest T20 fast bowlers of all time. Since RR has some of the best fast bowlers on the team, Sangakkara is excited that these players will have the opportunity to work specifically with Lasith. He will share his wealth of experience, which will allow the players to learn and develop further.

Kumar Sangakkara also commented on Paddy Upton. Upton previously served as RR’s head coach from 2013-2015 and then in 2019. Throughout his coaching tenure, he promoted cohesion among the players and also helped them mentally prepare. So Upton will certainly be a great addition to the coaching staff.

Kumar Sangakkara hopes that with their combined efforts, the Rajasthan Royals team can achieve their main goal, which is to become champions in the 15th IPL season 2022!
